Satay sauce is a rich peanut and coconut based sauce used in
Southeast Asian cuisine. This thick and creamy sauce is usually served
with grilled meat (chicken or beef). However, it is also suitable for
use over vegetables and rice. Satay sauce is a pleasant combination of
tastes. It is both sour and sweet. It is hot and salty as well. Satay
sauce is intensely rich due to the fats contained in the coconut milk
and peanuts. In fact, many people prefer to thin it out with water in
order not to have the sensation of being overloaded with this sauce.
